Bathroom Remodeling Storage Ideas – Here Are Some Unique Storage Ideas To Keep In Mind During Your Remodel

Have you ever noticed that it can feel impossible to have enough storage space in your bathroom? From linens to toiletries, and everything in between, storage space in the bathroom always seems to be running low. As you plan your bathroom remodel, you can’t forget to incorporate a plan to include more storage space. Here is your guide to some unique ways to add more storage space to your bathroom during your bathroom remodel.

Built-In Storage Tower:

Since you are already renovating, why not get serious about building storage into your bathroom. One of the best ways to do this is to build your bathroom storage right into your walls with a series of built-in shelves and cabinets. This will eliminate (or at least reduce), your need to have additional storage elsewhere in the bathroom, which could take up valuable room.

Speak with your contractor about finding as much wall space as possible to incorporate built-in storage space. Combining a mixture of open shelving with closed cabinetry can help to diversify the look of your bathroom.

Wall Cabinets:

Depending on how small your bathroom is, you are going to need to make every inch count as you try to up your storage game. One easy way to do this is to hang wall cabinets with various compartments to store things like toilet paper, towels, and various other bathroom items.

These are most commonly hung over the toilet, but feel free to get creative with additional places to hang wall cabinets to increase your storage even further.

Storage Ladder:

If you have enough space, why not try one of the more trendy ways to store your towels and toiletries; a storage ladder. These can easily be made into a fun DIY project if you feel comfortable. Simply go online to find the step-by-step plans to build your own storage ladder. Tight on budget? You may even be able to complete this project for free by recycling a spare wooden pallet or two to use for the supplies.

However, this storage trend has gained so much popularity recently, that you could just as easily find a storage ladder in any store or purchase one online.

Re-Purposed Dressers:

A re-purposed dresser will not only provide you with a lot of extra storage space, it can become a fun weekend project, and will likely become a real statement piece that will leave your guests talking. Of course you could go out to any furniture store and purchase a dresser. But for a more fun, and less expensive alternative, why not go around to your local garage sales and flea markets in search of the perfect find.

If you have the room, you can use the dresser as a stand alone piece. However, you can also use the refurbished dresser as a vanity and place a bowl sink on top of it.

Crate Shelving:

Another creative and very inexpensive way to add more storage to your bathroom during your bathroom remodel is to add crate shelving. You can get crates from any craft store. All you have to do is paint them any color that you want and then hang or stack them in your bathroom to add instant storage space. If you are shy on floor space, be sure to hang your crate shelves on the wall in order to take advantage of every inch at your disposal.

Peg Rails:

Another very simple, fast, and easy way to incorporate more storage space into your bathroom as you work through the remodel process, is to install peg rails. A peg rail will look great in any rustic or country style home. In fact, they were featured in the 2006 Dream Home’s bunk bathroom. Peg rails are a great way to help you store your towels.

Installing your peg rails should only take you a few minutes. The most time consuming part of the whole project will be picking out what pegs you want to use. To really maximize the space, hang a wooden shelf above the rail for even more storage.

Use A Lazy Susan:

If you are limited on shelving and space in your vanity, you can keep everything you need handy by adding a lazy susan. This will allow you to be within an arm’s reach of everything you need without clogging up your counter space with things like Q-tips, hair care products, and medications.
